I have a few questions.

1. I did setup an email after watching the "How To Create 100% Free Business Email" video. but now I cannot understand the purpose of this. which means connecting Sendgrid with Zoho and connecting to the web site. Is it for collecting email or for what? I don't need to use my website to send mail to anyone. I can use Zoho interface for that is it?

2. Also I need to connect the contact form to Zoho to use Contact Us. can I use the above setup for that?

I don't know, do you have some complete course to learn about this thing.

Thank you so much

@dassa I started using Zoho and was less than impressed with their service. I was sending mail from my local test environment when they blocked the account for improper use. I set up my own mail server using Mail-In-A-Box and haven't had issues since.

The purpose of needing a SMTP server is so that your site can send registration email and perhaps a newsletter if you set that up. You can do email marketing with your WordPress site as well but @Hasan might have a different view on that.

The video shows how to setup a business email with Zoho. it is a professional email under your own domain. That's it.

you dont need to connect Zoho or sendgrid, if you want to implement a contact form on your page, you just need to set the reply and from address as your email.

@admin but your system still needs to be able to SMTP to your email address to send you the form. If you want an email-less contact form you would need to store the contact form data in the database and use an admin or client support tool to access the data. But then you need to be able to SMTP send the responses to the user.

Zoho's support for their free version is nearly nonexistent and the paid versions are more than a startup can afford. I liked it when I was using it until they suspended the account and then support was crickets. That's when I started using MIAB for my SMTP service on my own servers.

@ssadvisor Yeah, I am just explaining what the video is about on my channel.

if he wants to send an email from WordPress, sure he needs an SMTP, usually hosting companies provide this with some restrictions to prevent spamming

@dassa what's your URL? Are you perhaps sharing your database with a different website?

@dassa is that what you want to do? If not change the settings to disallow commenting.

@dassa I'm also using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-registration-email-validator/ with the caution that it hasn't been validated to work with the WordPress version I'm using but I've not seen any problems.
