Hey, I've got Postal running for outbound SMTP (per your guide), but I need a real inbox too: someone needs to be able to email me at [email protected] and I want to read it in the Mail app on my iPhone. What do you do for the receiving side? Do you self-host a full mail server (Postfix + Dovecot + webmail), or do you use a hosted mailbox service for your personal/business inbox and keep Postal purely for sending?

If anyone else has tips, highly appreciated!

Postal is designed as outbound, so yes, I keep for sending.
for a full mailbox experience, I use mailcow.
but I want to ask you first, do you really need this?
if you are just learning, thats fine, but if you want to use in production, before you invest time in building these mailing systems, maybe you can rely on resend for sending if the free plan covers what you want.
and use a free business email from zoho.

Now that you mentioned these, I remember you talked about mailcow before. In the meantime, I have already set everything up purelymail, rings any bell? I was looking for a business email linked with my own domain for sending and receiving, not a full google workspace. I paid 10 dollars for a year wit this one and still have to setup up correctly for warm up because I am landing in spam.

@Cynthia Diane I recommend that you go with a cheap or free business email for your domain. you can work you own mailing system on the side
